Educating the next generation of UX Designers
As an Adjunct Professor at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), I teach User Experience Design courses at the master's level. I feel privileged to share my industry expertise with a diverse group of aspiring designers. Using a mix of theory, practical applications, and hands-on projects, I aim to equip students with essential tools for success in UX design.
In the classroom, I create an interactive learning environment, encouraging active participation and exploration of user-centered design complexities. I promote critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration among students, helping them grasp the principles and methods behind effective user experiences.
My teaching blends theoretical foundations with real-world case studies, prompting students to apply their knowledge to practical scenarios. Through activities like analyzing designs, conducting user research, and creating prototypes, students gain valuable experience solving complex design problems.
Outside the classroom, I provide mentorship, offering constructive feedback and personalized guidance on projects. I believe in nurturing individual strengths, allowing students to explore various areas of UX design and find their unique voice.
